Police have arrested four people following an alleged abduction and stabbing in Preston on Sunday evening.
Officers were called about 9.40pm on 10 September by a hire company reporting that their silver Hyundai had been stolen from Mitchell Street in Northcote.
They were able to provide police with a location of the car and a number of resources including the Air Wing and Dog Squad were called in.
Officers followed the vehicle at a distance and a man was released from the car at the intersection of High and Bell Street.
He was suffering facial injuries and investigators believe he had been abducted and stabbed.
He was taken to hospital.
Officers continued to follow the vehicle and successfully deployed tyre deflation devices on Barrow Street in Preston.
The Hyundai travelled on to Bischoff Street where it crashed into a parked car and four offenders ran from the vehicle.
The Air Wing was able to direct ground units to the offenders and three males and a female were quickly arrested.
A number of weapons were located in the vehicle when it was searched.
Police currently have a 17-year-old boy from Ivanhoe, a 18-year-old man from Preston, a 20-year-old man from Northcote and a 16-year-old girl from Heidelberg Heights in custody assisting them with their enquires.
