Four teens have been charged over alleged property offences following a break and enter on the Central Coast yesterday.
About 12.10am yesterday (Wednesday 18 December 2024), police were called to a home at Green Point following reports of a break and enter.
At the scene, police were told that a group allegedly entered the home before lighting a fire and fleeing with items.
The occupant extinguished the fire and contacted Brisbane Water Police who commenced inquiries into the incident.
A short time later, police were called to a second home at Green Point following reports a wallet, keys, cash and a mobile phone had allegedly been stolen.
Following extensive inquiries, police attended a Green Point home about 8.20am yesterday (Wednesday 18 December 2024).
Five boys – aged 12, 14 and three aged 13 – were arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station.
A 13-year-old boy was charged with take person in company with intent commit serious indictable, larceny, enter vehicle without consent of owner/occupier, aggravated break and enter with intent, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, and aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal.
He was refused bail to appear before a children’s court yesterday (Wednesday 18 December 2024), where he was formally refused bail to appear before the court on Friday 17 January 2025.
The 14-year-old boy was charged with two counts of larceny, two counts of enter vehicle without consent of owner/occupier, aggravated break and enter with intent, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal, and damage property by fire/explosion.
A second 13-year-old boy was charged with aggravated break and enter with intent, aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal, and carry cutting weapon upon apprehension.
The remaining 13-year-old boy was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company intend steal, and aggravated break and enter dwelling in company steal.
The three were refused bail to appear before a children’s court yesterday (Wednesday 18 December 2024), where they were granted strict conditional bail to appear before the same court on Tuesday 14 January 2025.
The 12-year-old boy was released pending further inquiries.
