Police have charged three men and one woman with serious drug supply offences after seizing over $4 million dollars worth of illicit drugs within the greater Sydney area.
Strike Force Frascatti was established in August 2023 by officers attached to Bankstown Region Enforcement Squad (RES) to investigate the large-scale supply of illicit drugs.
Following extensive inquiries, five search warrants were executed at three locations in Bankstown and two locations in Bolton Point, with assistance from the Tactical Operations Unit, South West Metropolitan Operations Support Group, PolAir, State Surveillance Branch, Raptor, Wetherill Park RES, Hunter RES, South West Metropolitan Region Domestic Violence High Risk Offender Team.
During the operation, police located and seized approximately 12kg of methylamphetamine, along with amounts of cocaine, heroin, and cannabis. The drugs have a potential street value of $4.33 million.
Two men aged 32 and 49, and a 41-year-old woman were arrested in Bankstown and taken to Bankstown Police Station, while a 25-year-old man was arrested in Bolton Point and taken to Toronto Police Station.
The 32-year-old man was charged with:
- supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity – five counts
- supply prohibited drug >= commercial quantity-si – two counts
- knowingly direct activities of criminal group
- deal with property proceeds of crime
The 49-year-old man was charged with:
- supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity – two counts
- supply prohibited drug >= commercial quantity – two counts
- participate criminal group contribute criminal activity
- possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit – two counts
A 41-year-old woman was charged with:
- supply prohibited drug >= large commercial quantity – two counts
- participate criminal group contribute criminal activity
All three were refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Friday 1 March 2024).
The 25-year-old man was charged with:
- Supply prohibited drug > indictable &
- Supply prohibited drug > small &
- Deal with property proceeds of crime
- Possess prohibited drug
- Fail to comply digital evidence access order direction – two counts
He was refused bail to appear at Toronto Local Court today (Friday 1 March 2024).
