Four police officers have been assaulted during an arrest on the Mid North Coast yesterday.
About 5.55pm (Thursday 25 June 2020), officers from Manning Great Lakes Police District were called to reports of a brawl at John Wright Park, Tuncurry.
Upon arrival, police located a 26-year-old man with blood on his face, allegedly threatening people in the area.
Police will allege, once the man had been handcuffed, he kicked out at two officers, striking one on the side of his head and the other to the forehead.
The second officer was treated by NSW Ambulance Paramedics at the scene.
He was subdued and taken to Forster Police Station, where it is alleged, he spat blood on two officers and attempted to further assault them.
NSW Ambulance Paramedics attended, however the man refused to be treated.
The man has been charged with affray, resist officer in execution of duty, and four counts of assault officer in execution of duty.
He was been refused bail to appear before Kempsey Local Court today (Friday 26 June 2020).
