MidCoast Council

Join author Anne Keen as she talks about her new novel Karamea House on 28 March at Taree Library.

Anne Keen is a successful author, journalist, documentarian and passionate storyteller.

Born in Canada, Anne spent time in the newsgathering team for Global Television in Toronto and Entertainment Tonight in Hollywood, and in production on numerous films and television shows in North America. She moved to Australia in 2000.

From 2.30pm to 3.30pm on Tuesday 28 March, Anne will discuss her latest book. Karamea House is described as a modern coming-of-age story addressing the challenging moments in the journey to someone becoming their ‘true’ self.

When Sara Johnston’s parents are killed in a car accident her oppressive world is shattered open. She is sent to live at Karamea House where she is exposed to a way of life she didn’t even know existed – a life filled with exploration, encouragement and acceptance.

She’s faced with the opportunity to make her own decisions about her life, her clothes, her friends and her future for the first time. Often torn between the strict religious group she grew up in and her new eclectic foster home, Sara embarks on a journey of self-discovery in this new world.

The event is free thanks to MidCoast Libraries, bookings essential
