It’s time for a Chemical CleanOut! Hawkesbury City Council’s free Chemical CleanOut will be held on Saturday, 4 December 2021 from 9am to 3:30pm at Hawkesbury Showground, Racecourse Road, Clarendon, entry via Gate 1.
This is your chance to make your family home safer by removing old gas bottles, unused chemicals and fuels. You will also be protecting our local environment and waterways by responsibly disposing of your potentially hazardous household chemicals.
Hawkesbury residents have demonstrated in the past they care about their environment. At last year’s event 565 vehicles dropped off 26,600kg of household chemicals. Since 2014 more than 220,000kg of chemical waste has been dropped off by the Hawkesbury community.
You can drop off:
- household cleaners and solvents
- handheld batteries
- fluorescent globes and tubes
- paint
- pesticides and herbicides
- poisons
- gas bottles
- fire extinguishers
- pool chemicals
- hobby chemicals
- acids and alkalis
- car batteries
- motor oils
- fuels and fluids.
Only household quantities of household chemicals and items can be dropped off – up to a maximum of 20 litres or 20 kilograms of a single item.
These services adhere to NSW Government COVID-19 advice and protocols. Before attending a event, please place all materials in the rear of the vehicle.
