Free flu vaccinations 3 April

From April, Council will be providing free flu vaccines to eligible people, including young children and seniors.

In 2022, we provided 850 free flu vaccines, and the majority of participants were young children. Protect your family this winter and book a flu vaccine.

People eligible for the free flu vaccine are:

  • children from 6 months old up to 4 years and 11 months
  • seniors aged 65 years or older
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • pregnant women
  • people (at least 6 months old) with medical conditions that may increase the risk of flu complications (e.g. severe asthma, low immunity).

Evidence may be requested to receive the flu vaccination. Our Health Services team will advise you before your appointment.

If you are not eligible for the free flu vaccine, you can book it for a fee of $31.

We are running dedicated flu sessions between mid-April to June 2023. After June, flu bookings can be made in our general immunisation sessions.

The Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) has advised that the flu vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine can be taken on the same day.

Bookings can be made easily online. For more information, visit our .
