Free grant writing workshops are on offer across the MidCoast in February 2022 to support economic growth in the region.
Accessing grants can provide long lasting benefits to communities by providing a financial boost to local community groups, event organisers and businesses.
The workshops are designed to help participants improve their grant writing skills.
The free and informative sessions will assist participants to identify funding opportunities, learn language specific to grant applications, and provide tips to improve the chances of receiving funding.
“Grant applications are very competitive and learning how to prepare and write your application will give you a better chance of success” said Council’s Manager Growth, Economic Development and Tourism, Deb Tuckerman.
Following the success of the free workshops held during 2021, Council is offering four sessions during February, spread across the region.
“We have had excellent feedback from the people who attended the 2021 workshops,” said Ms Tuckerman.
“Attendees said that it was an excellent learning opportunity and they benefited from networking with like-minded community groups and organisations.”
Keith Whelan from The Grants Guy will lead the workshops in 2022. Keith worked closely with Council to create the Grants Hub, a website dedicated to helping residents locate suitable grants and write winning applications.
The free workshops will be held in Wingham and Gloucester on Monday 7 February, Taree on Tuesday 8, Forster on Wednesday 9 and Tea Gardens on Thursday 10 February, 2022.
Workshops will be conducted via Zoom should COVID restrictions affect face to face meetings. Further information will be provided to participants closer to the date.
