A candlelight vigil has been arranged by the Government on Sunday, April 21, to allow the community to come together and honour the victims and heroes of the Bondi Junction attack.

One of those heroes was Faraz Tahir (aged 30), a cherished member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) and a dedicated security guard who tragically lost his life while on duty, serving and defending the public and community. Faraz actively contributed to the charitable endeavours of the AMYA.

The ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ President of the AMYA, Adnan Qadir, said:

“We came here to pay our respects for all the victims who lost their lives. Faraz will be dearly missed by his friends and colleagues at AMYA. He is not just a hero for us but the whole nation. We are here in large numbers to carry on Faraz’s legacy by reflecting on his bravery, courage, and giving strength to our youth that they too must always be ready to serve others and, most importantly, this beautiful country.”
