Fringe fever will hit Playford this March, with a trio of stage shows set to appear at The Shedley Theatre as part of the popular Adelaide festival.
Three shows – The 60 Four: Live in Concert, Elton John Meets ABBA and Neil Diamond’s Love at the Greek – will perform to packed audiences at The Shedley, northern Adelaide’s premier theatre destination, located in the Elizabeth CBD.
After a sold-out performance at The Shedley last year, The 60 Four are back, bringing with them the biggest hits from the 60s and 70s, accompanied by a spectacular 9-piece band.
“The Shedley is an exceptional venue, it’s a gem,” said 60 Four director and vocalist Ben Francis. “The venue itself is great, and the team is even better. We experience such brilliant hospitality every time we perform there.
“And talk about crowds. Last year, The Shedley audience was the loudest we had all year. It’s incredibly motivating to perform for an audience that’s so engaged and enthusiastic.”
Tribute shows Elton John Meets ABBA (with the Flaming Sambucas’) and Neil Diamond’s Love at the Greek (performed by Troy Harrison) are expected to sell quickly in 2024, and Mayor Glenn Docherty is encouraging theatre-goers to grab their tickets soon.
“Tickets are selling fast, which not only shows how popular these acts are, but our community’s appetite to get a taste of the Fringe close to home,” the Mayor said.
“It is great to have a venue like The Shedley in the heart of Elizabeth that can host these fantastic performances. The venue gives people in northern Adelaide the opportunity to experience live arts and theatre of a national calibre.”
With eateries within close walking distance and easy connection to public transport, The Shedley is ideally positioned in the Elizabeth CBD for a hassle-free night out this Fringe season.
“Acts like The 60 Four are a must see and their Fringe performance at The Shedley means you can create a whole night out with dinner and show, close to home in Elizabeth.
