The Knox Empowering Communities program is funded by the Victorian Government’s Empowering Communities initiative as part of the Building Safer Communities Program.
The program aims to support community designed and delivered projects that address causes of crime and perceptions of safety. Specifically, connecting people to enhance safety in Ferntree Gully (FTG).
Grant applications to submit your initiative and ideas to enhance FTG community safety will open in just a few weeks’ time from Monday 10 October 2022 until Monday 14 November 2022.
A total of $467,000 is available for projects, across three funding tiers:
Up to $20,000
$20,000 – $50,000
$50,000
Funding will be distributed according to four funding themes that outline the program’s key priorities:
Respect for self and others – promoting respect in the way we relate to each other
Young people and their families – building resilience and life skills in young people and those who support them
Friendly neighbourhoods – reducing social isolation and fostering positive connections with those living around us
Belonging to community – taking pride in our local community and celebrating what it means to belong
Those considering applying are encouraged to attend an information session at Ferntree Gully CFA Fire Station from 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm on Monday 17 October 2022.
