Council will receive new healthy infrastructure and programs that support more people to be more active, more often as part of Healthy Heart of Victoria, an initiative of the Loddon Campaspe Regional Partnership.
Macedon Ranges Shire Council Mayor, Cr Janet Pearce said through the initiative $300,000 in funding has been approved to upgrade and activate the Campaspe River Walk in Kyneton.
“The funding will be used to extend the shared footpath, to connect the pathway to new outdoor fitness equipment, and to plan for and deliver facilities that attract more people to use and enjoy the Campaspe River Walk,” Cr Pearce said.
The next stage of footpath upgrades along the River Walk is due for completion by June 2020, following community consultation. The design, planning and delivery of facilities and programs to promote new exercise equipment will occur over the coming six-month period.
“We will design the supportive facilities and resources together with community members, so that people of all ages and abilities can have a say in what would make the River Walk and exercise equipment more safe, inclusive and accessible.”
Community members who would like to be involved in the design process and learn more about the project are encouraged to
