Two new Changing Places facilities have opened at top tourism destinations in WA – Kings Park and Rottnest Island.
These facilities assist people with high support needs, their families and carers to participate more easily in the community and engage in recreation activities. Changing Places facilities are private and secure bathrooms and toilets designed for people with disability which include a fully accessible public toilet with a tracking hoist, adult-sized change table, peninsula toilet and additional space. Currently there is a network of 32 Changing Places throughout WA, giving people with disability access to public toilets and facilities that are taken for granted by the rest of the population.
