29 people have now been charged following an extensive investigation into a riot outside a church in Sydney’s southwest in April this year.
Strike Force Dribs was established to investigate the large-scale public order incident which occurred in Wakeley on Monday 15 April 2024.
Yesterday (Thursday 13 June 2024), five men were arrested during a second Strike Force Dribs day of action, targeting people believed to have been present at the riot.
During the operation, two men – aged 41 and 31 – and a 17-year-old boy were arrested during simultaneous search warrants at homes in Fairfield West, Wakeley, and Green Valley.
A further two men – aged 20 and 29 – were arrested separately at Fairfield Police Station, while a 20-year-old man was arrested at a correctional facility in Cessnock.
A 41-year-old man was charged with riot and three or more people threaten violence cause fear. He was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court yesterday (Thursday 13 June 2024) where he was granted conditional bail to appear at the same court on Wednesday 3 July 2024.
A 31-year-old man was charged with riot; destroy/damage property during public disorder; throw missile at police officer at public disorder no actual bodily harm and assault police officer during public disorder no actual bodily harm. He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court yesterday (Thursday 13 June 2024) and was granted conditional bail to appear at the same court on Monday 1 July 2024.
A 20-year-old man was charged with three or more people threaten violence cause fear; join or continue in unlawful assembly and behave in offensive manner in/near public place/school. He was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court yesterday (Thursday 13 June 2024) and was granted conditional bail to appear at the same court on Wednesday 3 July 2024.
A 17-year-old boy was charged with riot and destroy/damage property during public disorder. He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Children’s Court yesterday (Thursday 13 June 2024) where he was granted conditional bail to appear at the same court on Friday 12 July 2024.
A 29-year-old man was charged with riot and three or more people threaten violence cause fear. He was refused bail to appear at Fairfield Local Court yesterday (Thursday 13 June 2024) where he was granted conditional bail to appear at the same court on Wednesday 10 July 2024.
A 20-year-old man was charged with three or more people threaten violence cause fear and will appear at Fairfield Local Court on Wednesday 17 July 2024.
As investigations under Strike Force Dribs continue, police are renewing an appeal for information to help identify a further seven men who are believed can assist with inquiries.
- Person B: Middle Eastern appearance, dark brown hair with fading on the sides, full brown beard, wearing a black jumper, grey track suit pants, black TN runners and grey shoulder bag with black trimmings.
- Person CD: Middle Eastern appearance, dark brown hair with fading on the sides, moustache and goatee facial hair, wearing a grey and black jumper and black runners.
- Person CB: Middle Eastern appearance, dark brown hair longer style, unshaven dark coloured beard, white Nike jumper with white Nike track suit pants and white TN shoes with yellow heels.
- Person BU: Middle Eastern appearance, of muscular build, dark coloured hair with fade hair style, fade style full beard wearing a black jumper with white marking on left arm and charcoal coloured pants.
- Person AO: Middle Eastern appearance, of medium muscular build, with a dark coloured beard wearing a white ‘Eleven’ t-shirt, black three-quarter shorts, black runners with a while sole. The man has a tattoo behind his left ear, a right leg sleeve tattoo, sleeve tattoo on his left arm and a star tattoo on his right elbow.
- Person Z: Middle Eastern appearance, of medium muscular build, with a dark coloured beard wearing a black singlet, black shorts and black Nike hat and grey coloured runners.
- Person H: Middle Eastern appearance, with a full facial beard wearing a t-shirt.
