Gabbie Stroud conversation at Eden Library: Bega Valley

Eden Library is delighted to present a conversation between two local authors later this month, when Pambula-based author, Kate Liston-Mills talks to Gabbie Stroud about her poignant new novel concerning a harrowing secret and a school community in crisis, The Things that Matter Most.

Acting Library Services Coordinator, Linda Albertson said the conversation will focus on Gabbie’s writing process and inspirations, will be held at the Eden Library from 6pm to 7.30pm on Friday 22 September.

“Gabbie has a Masters of Education, specialising in how children learn to read and write,” Ms Albertson said.

“Her first novel, Measuring Up, is about a young adult coming of age, set around the surf beaches of Merimbula.

“Gabbie’s two bestselling non-fiction books, Teacher and Dear Parents reveal insights based on her experience within the Australian education system between 1999 and 2014, when she was a primary school teacher.

“Kate’s book releases are The Waterfowl are Drunk and Dear Ibis, which convey heartfelt stories in a local setting, peppered with humour and charm.”

Ms Albertson said it is a privilege to present this stimulating event and attendees will have the opportunity to purchase a copy of Gabbie’s debut adult fiction book, thanks to local booksellers, Candelo Books.
