The Recalibrate Gender Equity Awards 2024, taking place on the 20th of November at Crown Melbourne, will celebrate the individuals and organisations that are championing inclusion and equity across industries. This year’s spotlight includes the incredible achievements in the Empowering Migrant and Underrepresented Groups category, recognising leaders who are uplifting marginalised voices and creating meaningful change.

Supported by the Victorian Minister for Women, The Hon. Natalie Hutchinson, the awards highlight stories of innovation, cultural celebration, and global empowerment.

Empowering Migrant and Underrepresented Groups Finalists

  1. Carla Fuentes – Polaron Carla Fuentes exemplifies global leadership through her work with Polaron. She has pioneered professional pathways for women in Peru, enabling them to thrive in international markets. Carla’s commitment extends to mentoring a remote intern, guiding her transition into a leadership role in Australia, showcasing how empowerment transcends borders and drives transformative success.
  2. Ren Zhang – Coles Ren Zhang celebrates cultural diversity through her acclaimed podcast, Have You Eaten, which explores the intersection of food, family, and culture. By sharing the stories of immigrant women, Ren fosters understanding and appreciation of cultural heritage while amplifying underrepresented voices within Australian society.

The Gender Equity Awards 2024 promises an inspiring evening of celebration, recognising individuals who are dismantling barriers and creating opportunities for underrepresented communities.
