Get by with a little help from one of these great Queensland NGOs

Organisations that help Queenslanders with practical health advice and assistance can continue their good work thanks to funding from the Palaszczuk Government.

Minister for Health and Ambulance Services Steven Miles said funding would be renewed to 22 non-government organisations.

“We will continue to provide vital support to Queenslanders dealing with difficult or complex health issues,” Minister Miles said.

“That’s why we are investing more than $14.8 million over the next three years to these organisations that provide valuable community self-care support to Queenslanders.

“These organisations provide tailored services and are uniquely placed to assist and advocate for their consumers.

“They understand the community’s needs and interests and work hard to deliver the right services to those Queenslanders who need them.”

Cystic Fibrosis Queensland, Chief Executive Officer, Petrina Fraccaro said this grant allows us to continue to provide support and services to the increasing number of Queenslanders living with cystic fibrosis.

“Our programs are designed to increase clinical adherence and reduce frequency and duration of hospital stays,” Ms Fraccaro said.

“On behalf of our community I would like to thank the State Government for its on-going support.”

Kidsafe Queensland, Chief Executive Officer, Susan Teerds said this assistance is essential in providing services that help to save children’s lives.

“By providing information and direct assistance to the community on safety issues such as child car restraints and safe sleeping guidance for infants and children, we can play a significant role in reducing injury or death rates for this highly vulnerable age group,” Ms Teerds said.

“Kidsafe would like to thank the State Government for this funding and the ongoing support from Health Minister Steven Miles.”
