Join us for all the best bits of Christmas at the Queanbeyan Showground on Saturday 9 July from 10am-3pm.
The Christmas in July Markets are back after two long years away and we couldn’t be more excited. We have over 100 stallholders, a dedicated kids’ area, activities, competitions, Santa photos and amazing performers.
This year we also have a sensory hour from 9am until 10am, which is an opportunity for all members of our community to be part of this event.
During the hour we will minimise the number of people on site and limit noise to help people who have a sensory impairment really enjoy this event. Clockwork Circus will also be performing for people with different sensory needs.
‘It is so important to make our events inclusive so that everyone can enjoy being out and about in our community,’ Mayor Kenrick Winchester said. ‘This year the markets have a sensory hour as well as activities for people with a disability to help make this event as welcoming as possible.’
Pre-register your attendance through the and tick the ‘Sensory hour’ box to let us know you are coming.
‘After 10am local acts will start performing including the Queanbeyan Community Choir, who will be singing everyone’s favourite Christmas carols and our local dance school, Bom Funk, dancing up a storm on the main stage as well,’ Council’s Community Events Officer Mel Aitchison says.
Other drawcards to this year’s market include festive competitions. According to Mel, the Caroloke Competition will definitely be the highlight of the day!
The Caroloke Competition encourages individuals or groups to sing their favourite carols for their chance to win great prizes from local businesses.
There is also a Decorating Competition where participants can choose to flex their creative skills by transforming a cake or gingerbread. You can register for this competition on the treasure trail website.
There are a range of categories and prizes for these competitions. Learn more and register before 8 July at
