Going into battle for farmers over coal seam gas

AgForce has gone into battle for farmers in the Surat Basin with a concerning Conduct and Compensation Agreements with CSG companies.

Many farmers throughout the region and beyond have entered into CCAs with these firms, with varying degrees of satisfaction, which is why we have spoken out on their behalf.

Risks of the material impacts of subsidence due to CSG activities and associated damage to Prime Agricultural Land on the Darling Downs (irreplaceable rich soils on flat floodplains), need to be prevented.

Concerns have now been lodged over the Regional Interests Development Approval (RPI22/004): Kupunn Springvale Coal Seam Gas (CSG) Deviated Well Paths Regional Interests Development Approval.

followed a range of forums during which AgForce members queried the science underpinning subsidence modelling and monitoring, as well as the regulatory frameworks developed by the Queensland and Australian Governments to protect our natural assets.
