The Horsham Golf Course has seen a significant boost to their facilities with a major lighting upgrade, supported by a HRCC community grant.
In 2023, a major overhaul of the driving range was conducted, including a new tee-off shelter and a 36-metre extension to the range. The illumination of the tee-off area saw a 22% increase in driving range use of a 12-month period.
This notable uptick in participation led the Horsham Golf Course to undertake a more extensive lighting upgrade including the full illumination of the driving range, with the intention of improving the accessibility of the course and allowing for practice, events and clinics well into the evenings.
Horsham Golf Club Manager Darryl McCrae thanked HRCC for the $7000 contribution to the upgrade.
“We are thankful for the opportunity to provide safer, more accessible facilities to the public, and we hope it will encourage more people to give our sport a go”, Mr McCrae said.
“We look forward to seeing more new faces on the range”.
