I have only been in Goulburn a brief time, but thanks to the warm welcome we have received from Goulburnians, my family and I are already feeling right at home.
At the time of my appointment, I said this was a wonderful opportunity to be part of Goulburn Mulwaree’s exciting future. This excitement has only increased since I’ve been in town. I love being part of a community, and I have already been getting out and about to meet as many community members as I can.
Councils are the tier of goverment with which residents have the most daily interaction. I am always open to hearing how Council can improve its processes and its priorities, and residents can be assured I will act upon findings to build a better Goulburn Mulwaree.
I have told staff that it is my intention to get out and meet as many of them as possible in the next few weeks. Across my first 100 days, I plan to listen to staff and review our strategic direction. I am really looking forward to working alongside Goulburn Mulwaree’s elected Council, to discuss their strategic vision for the region, and to build upon Goulburn Mulwaree’s recent successes.
I intend on being a passionate advocate for both Goulburn Mulwaree Council and the region, pushing our case where needed with State and Federal governments, or with private enterprise.
Goulburn Mulwaree is a region on the rise. Our population is increasing, according to the most recent Census results. We have businesses who want to move to our local government area, and we have new facilities of which Goulburn Mulwaree’s residents should rightly be proud.
This is an exciting time to come aboard at Goulburn Mulwaree Council, and I am looking forward to tackling all the opportunities and challenges that await.
