Support is at hand to strengthen the staying-power of communities across our Shire as Wingecarribee Shire Council releases a new Community Resilience Small Grants program. Here’s where your not-for-profit community organisation or association can tap into funding toward innovative ideas for building resilience.
“Our priority with this program is to make assistance available for a variety of resilience-focused initiatives run by community groups, for their local community,” said Corinne Buxton, Coordinator, Community Engagement.
The grant pool of $73,000 is in part funded by the NSW Government Bushfire Recovery. Targeted toward preparedness projects for communities impacted by bushfires, one-off grants of between $500 and $10,000 will be offered.
In line with Council’s commitment to working collaboratively with our community to shape an even better future for our Shire, this small grants scheme will make more community-led resilience-building possible. We are coming alongside our local communities as they continue to rebuild and reconnect, following the challenging times we’ve come through together, and grow stronger together for whatever the future holds.
