Campaspe Shire Council is delighted to announce the successful recipients of Grants programs for the months of October and November. These grants aim to support and empower local community organisations and groups in their valuable work to enhance the quality of life for residents throughout our region.
Council’s grants programs provide financial assistance to a diverse range of projects and initiatives that contribute to the social, cultural, environmental, and economic development of the Campaspe community. Council received numerous applications for funding, each displaying the passion and dedication of local groups and individuals towards improving our vibrant community.
The grants that were awarded in October and November include:
Community Event Sponsorship
Council provided approximately $18,000 of financial support for upcoming community events across the shire, including:
- Victorian Clay Target Association Inc. to assist with hosting the State Down the Line Carnival on 9 – 12 November.
- Rochester Agriculture and Pastoral Society Inc. to go towards costs associated with hosting the Great Northern Show on 23 – 24 February 2024.
- Veterans Cricket Victoria Inc. to assist with hosting the Annual Over 60’s Cricket Carnival from 17 – 21 March 2024.
- Rushworth Easter Heritage Festival Inc. to go towards hosting the Rushworth Easter Heritage Festival on 30 March 2024.
- Kyabram District Health Service to assist with planning and celebrations for International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 4 December 2023.
- Echuca Moama Triathlon Club Inc. to go towards hosting the 25th Multi Sport Weekend on 20 – 21 January 2024.
- Embrace Church Inc. to go towards hosting the Tongala Carols by Candlelight at the Soundshell on 9 December 2023.
Junior Development Grants Program
Council provided approximately $1,000 of financial support for under 18s to assist with personal development and growth, recipients include:
- Nate Smith to go towards participating in the Little Athletics Victoria – New Zealand Development Tour in 2024, including the Colgate Games from 3 – 10 January.
Community Equipment Grants Program
Council provided approximately $4,000 of community equipment grants to provide financial assistance to community groups and sporting clubs. The funds were distributed to:
- Kyabram Netball Association Inc. to purchase size 4 and 5 netballs and bags for junior netball competitions.
- Rushworth Easter Heritage Festival Inc. to purchase a portable speaker system to use at the Easter Heritage Festival.
