- $75,000 in grants awarded to support Youth Week WA 2025 activities and events
- 32 organisations and local governments across WA to share in the funding

Organisations and local governments from the Kimberley to Great Southern will share in $75,000 of grants to host events during Youth Week 2025.
The Cook Labor Government has awarded grants of up to $3,000 to 32 organisations and local governments across Western Australia to support activities, workshops and events during Youth Week 2025.
Youth Week is WA’s biggest annual celebration of young people, providing people aged 10-25 with opportunities to express their ideas, raise important issues, showcase their talents and connect with their peers.
Some of the events to receive funding include:
- Yaandina Community Services’ two-day, outdoor creative workshop for youth in Roebourne. The workshop will feature a graffiti session where participants will design, spray paint and assemble their own skateboards, and a musical workshop to explore mixing music and turntable techniques;
- City of Kalamunda’s Champions of Change Youth Symposium will bring together young local changemakers to share their knowledge and empower their peers;
- Shark Bay Community Resource Centre will deliver a collaborative community-wide art project with Aboriginal artist Daniel McHenry to create a town mural that honours the Traditional Custodians of the land;
- Albany Youth Support Association’s Live and Loud event for 12 to 25-year-olds created by young people for young people, will feature live music and art activities in a safe and fun environment;
- Shire of Carnarvon will host the week-long Carnarvon Youth Festival packed with activities centred around art, culture and sport that aim to foster personal growth, creativity and a strong sense of community;
- Diversity Inclusion Belonging Youth Event hosted by the Multicultural Services Centre of WA Incorporated, to foster community spirit and cultural exchange for culturally and linguistically diverse young people; and
- City of South Perth will host Neon Festival – a free, fun and inclusive event designed by young people which will feature live music, a silent disco and local service providers.
Youth Week WA 2025, running from 10-17 April, will be launched in the City of Karratha, followed by more than 100 events across WA to celebrate young people.
To support this, the Cook Labor Government has awarded the City of Karratha a further $5,000 to host a Youth Week concert to kick-off the State-wide celebrations.
This year’s festivities will be centred around the theme ‘Our Threads, This Place, Your Moment’, which reflects young people’s connection to the community and each other.
The theme was selected by the Youth Week WA Planning Committee, including the 2025 Youth Week Ambassadors Daisy Pilsworth, Emily Sullivan, Lisa Lee and Om Sharma.
The Ambassadors will continue to play an important role in the planning, development and promotion of Youth Week WA ahead of the celebrations next year.
