The Olive Pink Opera, Malandarri Festival and the Chariotsof Thunder Sprintcar Series are amongst 19 Territory-wide events that will sharein more than $800,000 worth of funding from the NT Major Events Company onbehalf of the Territory Labor Government.
The events support communities, increase visitation, supportlocal jobs and boost the economy.
Grants have been awarded through four funding streams community festivals, event development, marketing and strategic developmentfunding.
The funding supports existing events to develop and improvetheir offering and for new events to further engage with the community andshowcase the Northern Territory.
Groups in Darwin, Borroloola, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek,Ngukurr and Ross River will host events including a travelling film festival,the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Indigenous Art Awards and an outback musicfestival.
