The Allan Labor Government is making kindergartens inclusive for children of all abilities through grants to upgrade early childhood education centres and buy specialist equipment – so every child can get the best start to their education.
Minister for Children Lizzie Blandthorn today announced the latest round of the Building Blocks Inclusion Grants, which aims to make kinders safe and inclusive learning environments for all children.
Through the inclusion stream of Building Blocks, kindergartens can apply for grants of up to $200,000 to upgrade kindergarten buildings and playgrounds to make them more inclusive for children of all needs and abilities.
Up to $10,000 is also available for specialist equipment, such as mobility stools or sensory equipment for kindergarten programs.
Since its launch in 2020, Building Blocks has provided over $235 million to plan, build new, and improve early childhood services across the state.
Through our nation-leading $14 billion Best Start, Best Life reforms, the Labor Government is transforming early childhood education to help children thrive, save families money, and support parents in returning to work or study if they choose.
