Off the back of an extremely successful holiday program period, the Campaspe Regional Library Service has the coming months covered with another exciting line up of events for people of all ages.
Regulatory and Community Services General Manager, Paul McKenzie said exhibitions, workshops and programs have been scheduled to coincide with significant days on the international calendar.
“We are excited to deliver a variety of opportunities for our community members to celebrate significant events such as International Woman’s Day and St Patrick’s Day,” Mr McKenzie said.
Currently on exhibition, the Land is Family Exhibition by fine art photography artist Jenani Therone, showcases 12 carefully chosen pieces which captures life on the land in the Wimmera over a 12 month period. It is a celebration of Australian agriculture and the resilience of farming families during times of drought.
To coincide with this, Jenani will be a guest speaker at the International Woman’s Day event at the Echuca Library branch on Sunday, 8 March. Renowned author Toni Jordan will also be joining the conversation.
Toni has written highly acclaimed novels including Addition, Fall Girl, Our Tiny Useless Hearts, Nine Days (VCE English Curriculum 2020) and The Fragments. These books will be available to purchase on the day courtesy of Collins Booksellers.
“The event includes book signings, question time and afternoon tea,” Mr McKenzie said.
Other upcoming events at Campaspe Libraries include the ‘Welcome to Echuca Moama’ night – an opportunity for people who have recently moved here, retired or those looking to be more involved with their community to come along and see what our shire has to offer.
An event to celebrate ‘This Girl Can Vic Week’, the all new Walking Podcast Tour will see special headphones supplied to participants where they will tune in to an ABC ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Radio Podcast and walk for 25-30 minutes followed by a “cuppa and chat’ at the library afterwards.
“This is a great opportunity to be active and entertained at the same time,” Mr McKenzie said.
Also coming up are technology sessions for seniors and Centrelink information sessions on aged care and retirement. For a bit of light-hearted fun and entertainment, there is an Irish sing along event to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
