Greater Shepparton City Council sporting facilities open for bookings with use to commence from

Greater Shepparton City Council advises that bookings are now open for community sporting facilities with use available as of 1 June 2020.

Those making bookings must complete a COVID-19 Access Agreement for Council owned sport and recreational facilities. The agreement, available on Council’s website, outlines the responsibilities of users, which ensures compliance with the most recent Chief Health Officer (Victoria) directions and State and Federal Government requirements.

As detailed in the agreement, it is expected that users stay up-to-date with any Federal and State Government changes and in particular the Victorian Chief Health Officer’s Restricted Activity Directions.

Guidelines issued by Victorian peak sporting bodies must also be complied with, except where those guidelines are in conflict with the relevant State or Federal Government directions.

All Users, User Groups and Committees of Council must abide by the number of people permitted in any group at any given time for an activity, and maintain the current physical distancing of 1.5m.

Furthermore, User, User Groups and Committees of Council must take all reasonable steps to ensure that:

  • Frequently touched surfaces are cleaned at least twice on any given day e.g. doors, door handles, toilets, etc.
  • Hand sanitiser is used frequently
  • Surfaces are cleaned when visibly soiled
  • Allow for cleaning in between activities e.g. training
  • Clean surfaces immediately after a spill
  • An anti-viral disinfectant is used to prevent the spread of COVID-19

Council acknowledges the COVID-19 situation is ever-changing. At all times the most recent and up-to-date changes to restrictions for Victoria, including to community sport, can be found on the and here websites.

Under the latest State Government advice, the use of indoor facilities, other than toilet facilities are not permitted. This means club rooms, indoor sitting areas, changing facilities and showers are to remain closed.

By signing the agreement, all Users, User Groups and Committees acknowledge that they understand their responsibilities and will abide by the Terms and Conditions as set out in the agreement.
