Wingecarribee Shire Council has partnered with Green Caffeen to launch a swap and go reusable coffee cup system across the Southern Highlands.

Nineteen local cafes across the Shire have already opted in, with numbers continuing to grow.

Council’s Waste Education and Policy Officer, Phoebe Ward, explained how the system works.

“Consumers simply need to download the Green Caffeen app and sign up, then pick up a reusable cup from a participating local cafe,” she said. “Enjoy your cup of coffee, then return the cup to any Green Caffeen cafe. As long as you return the cup within 30 days, it’s completely free to use.”

To celebrate the launch, Council and Green Caffeen will be shouting anyone who signs up for the program a free coffee on Friday 1 April 2022.

Download the Green Caffeen app from the App Store or Google Play to find your nearest participating cafe.

“To be eligible for a free coffee, all you need to do is download the app and follow the prompts, then scan the QR code in-store and order your coffee,” said Phoebe.

The official launch will take place at Rush Roasting Co on Argyle Street in Moss Vale from 9 am.
