Police have charged a 20-year-old man over the alleged grievous bodily harm of a man at Helensvale on Friday, October 25.
It is alleged that around 4.30pm, a 43-year-old man was at a bus stop on Milaroo Drive, when he was tackled by two males.
One of the males then allegedly stomped on the victim’s head causing him to lose consciousness.
The following day (Saturday October 26), detectives from Coomera CIB received vision of the alleged assault.
Subsequent investigations lead police to arrest a 20-year-old Pacific Pines man yesterday afternoon (Sunday October 27) and charge him with one count of grievous bodily harm.
He is scheduled to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court today.
Detectives are now appealing to anyone who witnessed – or anyone who may have further vision – of the incident to come forward.
Investigations continue.
