GRIFFITH CITY COUNCIL CELEBRATES LOCAL GOVERNMENT WEEK 2023

Griffith City Council is inviting residents to help celebrate Local Government Week 2023.

Held from 31 July – 6 August 2023, Local Government Week is designed to showcase the work councils do in their local communities, including the wide variety of services they provide.

This year, Griffith City Council is using the week to say thank you to the selfless volunteers who support Council and highlight some of the services and facilities the community enjoys.

Griffith Mayor, Councillor Doug Curran said the week was always a good opportunity to let the community know more about what Council does.

“Most people don’t realise the extent of what Council does. There are a whole host of things beyond roads, rates and rubbish. We know from a lot of recent discussions that our community appreciate the work done by our Council and staff,” Councillor Curran said.

“I invite residents to get involved in the activities we have planned throughout the week.”

Council will hold a Thank You Morning Tea for Council Volunteers on Tuesday 1 August 2023 at the Griffith Regional Theatre Foyer.
