Investment and job growth in the Wheatbelt is set for a boost after Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan today launched the Northern Growth Alliance Investment Prospectus.
The prospectus highlights current and potential investment opportunities across the shires of Chittering, Gingin and Dandaragan in the Wheatbelt region.
Strong population and jobs growth over the last 10 years has been driven by significant public and private investment in the region.
A collaboration by the shires of Chittering, Gingin and Dandaragan, facilitated by the Wheatbelt Development Commission, the Northern Growth Alliance has sought to maximise the opportunities from this sustained growth.
The Northern Growth Alliance Investment Prospectus focused on a range of activities, including the ongoing development of the intensive agriculture, mining and tourism industries.
As stated by Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan:
“We see real growth opportunities in the areas north of Perth, and this prospectus will be a useful tool to drive investment into the region.
“From renewable energy and mining to tourism and aquaculture, this region is brimming with opportunities for private enterprise.
“It’s fantastic to see the collaboration between the three local governments, with support from the State Government through the Wheatbelt Development Commission, to deliver on the potential of the area.”
