Council is continuing our work to prioritise the maintenance of regional roads across the Gwydir Shire. To help us do this, we are seeking feedback from our community to continue to understand your expected levels of maintenance for our vast array of roads. Over the coming months, there will be a variety of ways for you to give feedback on your expected level of service of our roads, including surveys for areas across the Shire.

OVERVIEW
Gwydir Shire Council is committed to ensuring the region has a sustainable, resilient, and efficient road network that can respond to the community’s needs responsibly, effectively, and considerately. We want to hear from you to help inform how we prioritise our road maintenance using the finite resources available. This feedback, among other factors will enable us to plan ahead and provide maintenance, upgrade or improve roads in priority order.
SO, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?
Understanding the way our community uses the roads will help us to set a plan for maintaining and upgrading the roads. We need to hear from you. Your voice is important in ensuring the safety, connectivity and longevity of our roads. We will be running surveys and other activities in the coming months and hope you take this opportunity to be involved in this important project.
WHAT IS ROAD PRIORITISATION?
Road prioritisation systematically evaluates and ranks roads based on various criteria to determine which ones should receive priority attention for maintenance, improvement, or investment. This process will help council to continue making informed decisions about allocating our limited resources to address the most critical needs across our road networks.
