The Kenthurst Fair is back this September as part of The Hills Shire Council’s Orange Blossom Festival celebrations.
Thousands of Hills residents will gather at John Benyon Rotary Park to enjoy over 20 food and market stalls, along with exciting activities and entertainment provided by local community groups. The event will feature a street parade, carnival rides, a petting zoo, and stage entertainment, including a performance by The Rock’n Soul Choir.
For Samantha Ellis from the Kenthurst Rotary, the Kenthurst Fair is a day to celebrate the coming of spring and the tight-knit Kenthurst community.
“The Kenthurst Fair is special to both the community and Rotary. It brings not only the Kenthurst community, but the wider Hills community together, to enjoy a day of stalls, rides, food, and entertainment,” Samantha said.
The highlight for many is the street parade when hundreds of participants dance, march, or drive their vintage cars along Kenthurst Road. School students, Kindy groups, dance groups, clowns, marching bands, Rural Fire Service and State Emergency Service volunteers will all be part of the colourful parade.
The Kenthurst Rotary is dedicated to giving back to the community. The Kenthurst Fair is the largest fundraising event for the Rotary and all the funds raised go back into the community.
“The money we raise goes towards local schools, the RFS and SES, other community events like Carols in The Park and Australia Day, and our new initiative of caring for the homeless and disadvantaged in the community,” Samantha added.
From children to car lovers to volunteers, the community-based fair has something in store for everyone.
