Have your say: Sharing information for better outcomes for children and families

The Victorian Government has introduced new laws to make it easier for professionals to collaborate with each other, and better support the children and families they are working with.

This is done by:

  • The Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS), which enables information to be shared to promote the wellbeing or safety of a child
  • The Family Violence Sharing Scheme (FVISS), which enables information to be shared to assess or manage family violence risk
  • The Family Violence Multi Agency Risk Assessment and Management Framework (MARAM) sets out the responsibilities of different workforces in identifying, assessing and managing family violence risk across the family violence and broader services system.

The reforms aim to remove legislative barriers for professionals and services, to help create a more collaborative, integrated system to improve safety and wellbeing outcomes for all Victorians.
