Hawkesbury Active Transport Plan

Active transport in the HawkesburyHawkesbury City Council is developing a new Active Transport Plan to provide the framework for an integrated connected network of walking and cycling infrastructure by completing the missing links and developing safe, quality infrastructure and priority routes.

It will provide mobility links throughout the City to connect our centres, parks and facilities and provides an opportunity to review and align priorities developed by the Hawkesbury Mobility Plan 2010 (Bike Plan and Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan) and set the direction for the next 10 years across the Local Government Area.

Residents can attend a community workshop about the project on Wednesday, 22 March 2023 at the Hawkesbury Leisure and Learning Centre, 114 March Street, Richmond at the below times:

  • 10:30am – Seniors, people with disabilities and carers – register at
  • 6pm (for 6:30pm start) – General session – register at

The general session will be recorded and made available on Council’s YouTube page

Council also wants to hear from the Hawkesbury community about local issues and opportunities for using active transport. Community members will soon be able to provide feedback through an online survey and/or using a Social Pinpoint mapping tool via Council’s Your Hawkesbury Your Say web page at The online survey/Social Pinpoint mapping tool is currently in preparation and anticipated to be available in March. Details will be provided to the community when the survey is live.

This project is proudly funded by the NSW Government.
