People living in Perth now have greater access to free mental health care with the opening of two new Head to Health adult mental health services in Gosnells and Mirrabooka.
These services build on the success of the existing Midland Head to Health, which opened in March 2022.
Head to Health services provide a safe place for adults to access mental health information, services and supports delivered by multidisciplinary teams. Services include immediate support and follow up for people in crisis, and short to medium term care for adults with moderate to severe mental health needs.
Fully funded by the Australian Government, the Gosnells and Mirrabooka services were commissioned by the Western Australia Primary Health Alliance and are operated by St John of God Social Outreach. They are located at 288 Corfield Street, Gosnells and 3 Doncaster Road, Mirrabooka.
Anyone can access these new services by visiting their nearest centre or making a free call to Head to Health on 1800 595 212 from 9am to 5pm, weekdays. No GP referral or appointment is needed.
Interpreting services are also available through the Australian Government’s recent investment in Translating and Interpreting Services.
The Gosnells and Mirrabooka services are the latest in the national Head to Health network. By 2024, five Head to Health services will be available across Western Australia – including two new sites being established in Armadale and Northam.
