The crisis that has consumed the health and hospital system during five years of Liberal Government is clearly the number one issue for the voters of Pembroke.
Labor Leader Rebecca White joined the Labor member for Pembroke Jo Siejka as the campaign headed into its final week.
Jo and her team have knocked on more than 10,000 doors since Australia Day.
“In all of those conversations health has been a key concern for voters,” Ms Siejka said.
“People understand that there will always be challenges in the health system.
“The concerning thing is we have a Health Minister and government that seems incapable of admitting there is a crisis in our hospitals.
“We have health professionals warning that people are dying but after five years the Liberals are still not taking this issue seriously.
“That’s why we need representatives in parliament that will hold the government to account.”
Ms White said after just a year in Parliament, Ms Siejka has proven to be a strong voice for the people of Pembroke.
“Jo has been a strong advocate for the delivery of essential services to her community – particularly in the areas of mental health, disability care and aged care.
“But she has also kept the pressure on government to fix problems like the Mornington roundabout.
“The people of Pembroke can be confident they have a passionate and tireless representative in Jo Siejka – that has been proven since she was first elected.”
