Swan Hill Town Hall is looking to the community to help make a big decision about some big new curtains.
The Town Hall stage has three sets of massive wool curtains – totalling 290 square metres of fabric – and they will be replaced for the first time in 25 years.
Four different colour options have been chosen and now the community is being asked to help decide.
Swan Hill Town Hall Manager Yvette Myhill said the team was looking forward to the change.
“The existing curtains are worn, damaged in places, and are no longer fire safe,” Ms Myhill said.
“The new curtains will also change the look and feel of the Town Hall and so we want the community to help us make this decision,” she said.
“We’ve had some images mocked up to show the different colour options. You can see them on the Council website and the Town Hall Facebook page, and vote for your favourite.”
Ms Myhill said some other changes would be made to the stage area that would enhance the Town Hall’s ability to put on shows and conferences.
“We’re getting a cyclorama for the first time, which is basically a large white curtain that we will use to project onto,” she said.
“We’ll also be changing the height of the curtains. The stage opening is now 4.65 metres high and that will go up to 5.25 metres, so it will make the stage area look much larger.”
Voting is open until 19 May.
