A cancer diagnosis can be a life changing event.
Cancer Council WA’s Wellbeing After Cancer program is available for West Australians when their treatment ends, helping them adjust to a new way of living, or for those living with an incurable cancer.
With the support of a specially trained health professional, our Wellbeing After Cancer program will assist with identifying specific needs for participants, help them set goals towards a healthier lifestyle and support them through a series of phone calls and useful tools, including the development of an individualised Wellbeing Care Plan.
What’s involved in the Wellbeing After Cancer program?
Participants in our Wellbeing After Cancer program will receive:
- Information and recommendations tailored to their specific needs, which may include areas of nutrition, physical activity, emotional wellbeing, and sexual health.
- Links to a range of practical and emotional support services.
- Suggestions for other community organisations who will be able to provide further support as they adapt to life after cancer treatment.
