A man has lost his licence on the spot after being caught driving six times over the limit at Prospect this morning.
About 8.35am, Monday 8 July, patrols stopped a red Hyundai sedan on Regency Road. The driver submitted to a breath test recording an alleged reading of 0.315.
The 45-year-old from Prospect lost his licence on the spot for twelve months and his car was impounded for 28 days. He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
Police are appalled this man made the decision to drive while six times over the legal limit during peak hour traffic, putting not only himself but all road users lives at risk. Drink driving is one of the major contributing factors in serious and fatal collisions.
