A man has been charged after being caught on the Central Coast overnight allegedly driving at almost 150km/h with more than three times the legal blood-alcohol limit.
Officers attached to Brisbane Water Highway Patrol were patrolling the Central Coast Highway about 11.55pm yesterday (Friday 3 December 2021), when they saw a Kia Picanto travelling east, allegedly at high speed.
A radar check showed the vehicle was travelling at 149km/h in the 70km/h zone.
The driver was stopped and subjected to a roadside breath test which allegedly proved positive.
The 24-year-old man was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.164, more than three times the legal limit.
The man, from East Gosford, has been charged with high-range PCA, and drive recklessly/furiously or speed/manner dangerous.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in Gosford Local Court on Wednesday 22 December 2021.
The man’s licence was suspended and confiscated.
