High-range drink driving charge after crash at Thirlmere, NSW

A man has been charged with high-range drink driving after a crash in Sydney’s south-west overnight.

Just before 9pm (Sunday 22 March 2020), a Toyota Landcruiser was travelling north on Westbourne Avenue, Thirlmere, when it allegedly collided with five parked cars and a tree before stopping on North Street.

Officers from Camden Police Area Command attended and found the driver asleep in the vehicle. He was subjected to a roadside breath test which proved positive.

The 24-year-old man was arrested and taken to Picton Police Station where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.273.

He was charged with high-range PCA and is due to appear at Picton Local Court on Tuesday 12 May 2020.

His licence has also been suspended.

The passenger, a 46-year-old woman, was also arrested for allegedly breaching a current enforceable AVO.

She was charged with breaching a restriction of an AVO and granted conditional bail to appear at Picton Local Court on Wednesday 25 March 2020.
