Universities Australia, in partnership with the ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Press Club of Australia, has today called for entries for the Higher Education Media Awards.
The awards are open to media professionals and production teams who write or broadcast on higher education policy, university teaching and research, or the work of individual universities or academics.
“We are looking for exceptional reporting and analysis that brings to life the enormous contribution universities make to the nation,” Universities Australia Chief Executive Catriona Jackson said.
“Universities are fundamental to an optimistic, productive modern economy and society. Our students, staff and researchers work across every area of human endeavour – giving our nation the best chance to tackle the toughest challenges and identify and grasp the biggest opportunities.
“Each year – through an expert judging panel – we have the great privilege to recognise quality journalism on key issues in higher education, including the economic and social benefits our universities bring to the communities they serve and the entire nation.”
Media professionals are invited to submit entries in one or both categories – journalist of the year and excellence in research reporting. Successful winners will be awarded $12,500 and $2,500 respectively.
