The Futsalroos staged a dramatic comeback but ultimately went down to Afghanistan in heartbreaking fashion with a 5-4 loss in the dying moments in Thailand.
Australia trailed 4-1 at half time before staging a remarkable second half comeback scoring three goals in just over a minute to level the score at 4-4.
However with the game on a knife edge, Afghanistan found the winner with 12 seconds to play and move above the Futsalroos into first in the NSDF Futsal Championship standings.
