Detectives from the Mount Isa Child Protection and Investigation Unit have charged two men in relation to historic child sex offences alleged to have occurred in the 1970s.
The charges come as investigators appeal to others who may have experienced similar incidents in that timeframe in North Queensland area to come forward.
It will be alleged the offences were committed against a single female child, known to the men, in the areas of Julia Creek, Boulia and Townsville between 1970 and 1978.
An 82-year-old man has been charged with nine child sex offences, including six counts of indecent treatment of a girl under the age of 16.
A 74-year-old man has been charged with one count of indecent treatment of a girl under the age of 17.
Both men, from North Queensland, are expected to appear before Julia Creek Magistrates Court on July 11.
