Shoalhaven City Council Mayor Amanda Findley is reminding residents that they too can lend a helping hand this winter to those in the Shoalhaven who may be experiencing homelessness.
“³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾lessness is something that unfortunately, effects a lot of those that live in our region and Council’s ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾lessness Taskforce is working to raise awareness on the issue and encourage those to lend a helping hand if they can,” Mayor Findley said.
“Established in March 2017 Council’s ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾lessness Taskforce is working to address issues, develop options and assist with the identification of preferred solutions as part of Council’s decision-making process.
Since it was established, the Taskforce has focused on advocating community views on homelessness issues. Most recently, the Taskforce received a presentation from Salt Care on its proposed Reboot program which highlighted the need to halt the growth of homelessness in the Shoalhaven. As the weather gets colder, our local homelessness services really need your help.”
