The Homicide Squad are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Mitcham last night.
The yet to be formally identified man was located inside a property on Simla Street around 5.45pm.
Ambulance officers initially attended the scene and a female at the address allegedly assaulted one of the paramedics.
Police attended and arrested the 27-year-old Ashwood woman who remains under police guard in hospital and is yet to be interviewed.
The exact cause of the man’s death is yet to be determined but is being treated as suspicious at this stage.
