Honour amazing everyday people

We are inviting nominations for the Knox Australia Day Awards 2023. Nominations close on 2 December 2022.

Our community consists of amazing everyday people who make a positive difference in Knox. Our Australia Day Awards honours people who reach out to help others, volunteer at schools or in the community, or work to preserve the environment.

By nominating an amazing everyday person for an Award, you will give them the recognition they deserve and share their inspiring story with our community.

Gayle Dye, our 2022 Citizen of the Year recipient, was honoured for her community service and generosity to help others. During COVID-19, she started a Share Space at her home to provide material assistance for local people doing it tough.

She coordinated donations from community members and local businesses, providing food, hygiene products and household items in her Share Space. Up to 120 families per week received help from her initiative, including people experiencing family violence or homelessness.

“I’ve been told by many that we have given locals a way to help our community. I love that it is community helping community,” says Gayle.

“One simple act of kindness creates an endless ripple.”
