A State Memorial Service to celebrate the remarkable life of philanthropist and media industry icon Harold Mitchell AC will be held at 10:30am on Monday, 13 May at Hamer Hall in Melbourne.
Registrations to attend the memorial, taking place on what would have been his 82nd birthday, are open from 9:00am on Monday, 15 April and registration is free.
Harold Mitchell’s influence in shaping Australia’s modern media and advertising industry is unmatched, but his success in business was always driven by a desire to give to others.
Through the Harold Mitchell Foundation, he gave wholeheartedly to arts, sport, health, and education, both in Australia and abroad.
As a generous fan of the arts, Harold Mitchell contributed to the Malthouse Theatre, Opera Australia, ³Ô¹ÏÍøÕ¾ Gallery of Australia, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Museums Victoria, and the New York Philharmonic.
Family, friends, colleagues and members of the public are invited to attend to recognise the impact of Harold’s life.
